System Planner represents a major innovation in the processes—new design and design reuse—from the four perspectives: logic blocks, physical layouts, three dimensional structure and space, and cost compilation, allowing the optimization of overall design from the earliest stages.


4 viewpoints for system design


System Planner is composed of 4 interlinked viewpoints, and operation between the viewpoints is performed by ""drag & drop."" Making use of the synchronization between the 4 viewpoints allows optimal design of the whole system from a variety of perspectives, while making trade-offs.

(Case 1) Fast and sufficient upfront planning is the key for success


Upfront design planning usually requires that engineers perform many manual and disconnected tasks. System Planner, featuring virtual trade-off function of design elements like functional logic, parameters and spacing, replaces such time-consuming tasks with a one-stop synchronized process. This design environment allows engineers to concentrate on finding the best combinations from as many trials as they want without stress.
Engineers can start upfront planning even when all of the data is not defined. Reusing existing design data then editing and modifying it if necessary, can be done at a desk-top. With System Planner, engineers can also check various parameters based on the designing model comparing set objectives. The contents of trials done on System Planner can be directly transferred to the tools for detailed design without reentering the design data to them.

Desktop utility for upfront planning


List of ""Review Cases"" carried out at conceptual design stages such as function composition, board composition and component layout are shown at a glance.
Review cases with complicated branching can be grouped in an easy to understand fashion, and a review history of the design planning process recorded.


●Grouping of review cases
Review cases carried out through trial and error during design can be grouped according to objective. Because they are grouped in the form of a tree, designers are able to carry out further reviews in accordance with their intended aim.


●Comparative evaluation of a variety of design potentials
Actual values and target values for a variety of review cases can be checked in a list. As data from multiple review cases can be displayed together, they can be comparatively evaluated without studying the details.


●Checking design data progress using a preview
Previews of review cases can be displayed with a viewer. Checking can be done without having to open up the data, so designers can grasp the design content of review cases instantly.
